In this video I talk about a company that served their potential customers in a smart way. A smart way that was what their potential customers would celebrate and think was cool.
It involved a school, dozens of little libraries, and some used books. All while I picked up my own copy of East of Eden.
This little library scheme applied all 4 stages of good marketing at once!
- Found
- Trusted
- Chosen
- Remembered
All four stages of marketing from one activity
The school was found because people that like to read and are on a budget check out the little libraries.
They were trusted because they weren’t putting fluff in the library. It wasn’t yet another copy of some Tom Clancy novel or Purpose Filled Life. They were literature books and reading lists that homeschoolers wanted.
They were chosen from the books because if somebody opened the book, they had a little paper saying who the book was from. If you were looking for a copy of Tom Sawyer and you saw where to get one for free on Instagram, you’d go for it. Or share it with your friends.
And of course, you were remembered. When you show up at the homeschool co-op and everyone wants to know where you got that sweet gilded copy of Gulliver’s Travels, you have a story to tell.
